L.A. Beats the Thunder 105-98

Seven in a row. The L.A. Lakers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder to push their winning streak to seven straight games. The big three led the Lakers to a relatively easy win. The Lakers never trailed after the second quarter. Kobe scored 34 points and 7 rebounds, Gasol scored 22 points and had 14 rebounds, Lamar Odom added 12 points and 18 rebounds. Trevor Ariza, Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic kicked in 27 points off the bench. The Thunder were led by sophomore phenom Kevin Durant with 31. Russell Westbrook added 17 and Jeff Green had 16 as the Thunder dropped to 13-39.

Kobe is making a serious run at the NBA's MVP award. He has led the Lakers to the best record in the NBA at 42-9 just as LeBron James and the Cavs are hitting a rough stretch. Kobe has taken this team on his shoulders and is averaging over 35 PPG for the month of February.

The Lakers will try to win their eight in a row against the Jazz tomorrow night. This is the Lakers last game before the All Star break and hopefully they can carry their current momentum over into the rest of the season.
