L.A. Holds On to Beat The Hornets

The Lakers beat the Hornets 115-111 in overtime at the Staples Center. The Hornets had a furious rally in the 4th quarter to send the game to overtime. New Orleans trailed by 13 going into the 4th and got big games from Rasual Butler and Chris Paul. Butler led the Hornets in scoring with 31. Paul fouled out in overtime finishing the night with 21 points, 16 assists and 4 steals. David West added 16 points and 16 boards. Kobe bailed the Lakers out again with 39 hard earned points. Pau Gasol added 20 points and 12 rebounds. Odom had a quiet 12 points and 17 rebounds. This was a tough win for L.A as the Hornets pushed them to the brink over and over again. Butler kept getting threes in overtime whether by hitting a 3 pointer or on a 3 point play. L.A. held tough though and Kobe made just enough plays to win the game. The Lakers picked up their 45th win of the season. They have the best record in the NBA at 45-10 and are now 8-1 since Andrew Bynum's injury. Good win for L.A.
